关于亲属担保问题

我有个表姐在布里斯班 （不属于偏远地区），她去年年底毕业后，申请PR分数不够，我想为她做偏远地区亲属担保 （487签证）， 请问我的担保需要持续多久？  487下来就可以了，还是要等她申请到PR以后？我去移民局网站，没有找到答案。。
