签证过程大约两分钟不到,是传说中的GLASSBOY,但是我没有觉得他很凶,他听到我的第一句话以后
表现出来的神情让我相信他绝对让我过了,他点头,而且笑的很开心.他连我的129,OFFER LETTER
等重要的资料都不要看,竟然要看一下我自己写的RESUME,他问了我如此的问题,我回答的不怎么
样,但是我始终站的很端庄(别趴在台子上),给他比较SWEET的灿烂笑容,有礼貌.

me: well,she is the manager at *** of my coming company.

v: how did u know this company ?
me: a friend of mine passed my resume onto the manager.
v: you have a friend in this company??
me: no,i didn't .( wrong sentence)
v:do you have a resume?
me: sure.would you like to see teh annual report of this company?
v:no,your resume.(smile,very kind)
me: here it is.
v: (smiling,nodding)so,what's linux?
me: parden?
v: what's linux?
me:................
v: okay(smile,sweet)

me: ah??oh,thanks.
me: thank you very much,good luck to your soccer team ,this afternoon!!
v: oh,great!!thanks!!!i will watch it:-)( he smiling again and agin,even

我觉得不要想象自己要挑到哪样的签证官,最重要的是自己准备的充分!!!我的材料基本没有用上,
但是我相信如果我不好好准备,说不定就遇到棘手的问题了.所以,准备很重要.在准备签证的过程
中,我的BF一直帮助我,甚至给我安排我的可能的问题,他人在美国,但是如此长期以来,对我的切切
的关怀和一丝不苟的详细的问题设计,以及对我学习的鼓励,对我的体贴和真诚,以及疼爱是我一生
都要铭记的!!!!!!我相信我是一个幸运的姑娘,我也会用我真诚的心和他好好的过日子,明天是我
们自己创造的,未来是属于每一个人的!!祝愿天下有情人终成眷属!!!

a: a friend of mine passed my resume onto ***. D*** is the hiring manager at
***. (ONLY if VO still lets you continue, then: "It turned out this position
fits my technical background (unix programming) very well")
5. q: what are you going to do?
a: C programming on unix platforms, such as IBM AIX, Sun Solaris,
and SCO Unix.
6. q: why don't you leave or why don't you stay here to do the same thing?
q: why do you want to go there?
a: well, I will have a chance to work with lots of smart people and lots of new
technologies. (also, i will be paid moreJ - probably don't say that) anyway, i
hope it is beneficial for both me and ***.
7. q: what are u doing now?
a: I am a software engineer at *** Technologies in beijing. I developed
applications for the unix platforms.
8. q: are u coming back to china?
a: I might be back to china, you know, my coming job is beneficial to both of
me and ***. Anyway, no matter what place I am going to work at , the most
important issue is that I just keep the same thing in my job.
9. q: so why do u want to go (if you can do same thing here in bjs)?
a: like i said, this is the best job opportunity i've ever had. I am very
excited and looking forward to my new career milestone.
10. q: so why didn't you apply for visa early, since the start date is June 3rd?
a: I made this appointment as soon as i got my offer letter and H1-B
approval form from *** about two weeks ago.
11. do you have a boyfriend here?
[surprised by his question, wondering why he asks …] I had one.
12. q: how much did you talk to ***?
a: well, I called *** just two days ago.
13. q: what's your educational level?
A: I have a BS degree in computer science.
14. Q: and your major is Computer Scince？
A: yes.
15. Q: can you show me your diploma?
A: sure, here is my BS degree document.
16. Q: Where will you work?
A: *** Technologies in Washington D.C. area.
17. Q: Do you remember the exact place?
A: It is in Maryland. *** told me that it is about 30 miles from White HouseJ.
18. Q: How much do they pay you?:
A: $**** a year.
19. Q: Which college did you graduate from?
A: ** university of technology .
20. Q: how long have you worked in beijing? "
A: I started in April last year.
21. Q:" what's the salary now?"
A: 6,000 a month plus bonus.
22. Q: "what did you do before that job?"
A: I worked for Bank of China as a Programmer on Unix systems.
23. Q: when did you graduate?
A: " I graduated IN [come on, fill in the blank here] June ,1998.
24. Q: why did *** recruit you (instead of domestic - I don't think they will
say this way)
A: J, well, like any other H1-B cases, it must be good for both employee and
the company.
25. Q: what's your coming project?
((Software application development using C and C++ language on different Unix
systems, including Solaris, AIX, SCO, Linux. Porting existing system device
drivers. Also, there might be some database work involved.
Q: why do u choose ***? - you might say it w/o VO asking u this question,
whenever appropriately.
A: *** is a decent company. It started in 1971 and the stock has been on NASDAQ
for seven years. The yearly revenue is around 300 million dollars. It is a very
stable and creditable company I did lots of research myself. For instance, I
went to the CNN and Yahoo web sites, and I printed out those [pointing to hgg's
printouts] from the web directly.
26. q: what will you do in US?
I am going to do c programming on different unix such as ibm aix,sun
solaris,sco unix and so on.
27. q: what is the company name?
A : you mean my present company or ***?
A: ****tenologies (this is my business card).
Or A: *** Technologies.by the way, i have sent the ***'s annual report to you
just now.
29. q: what does *** do?
A: *** provides IT services to companies such as IBM, SUN, 3M, Compaq/HP, and
so on.
30. Q: who is the customer of your product in ***'s team?
A: I know the product is a kind of unix device driver (hey as long as you
understand what unix device driver is, that is cool - in short, unix device
driver is the one layer of software in order for other applications on the unix
to talk to the hardware device, and it is often part of the operating system.)
31 .q: What's this? What is Global Education Group?
A: Those are the documents from ***'s lawyer. (i.e., why shall I know what the
heck are those junk.)
32 . q: WHAT if I don't give you the visa?
A: If you have any concerns or questions, could you please contact *** directly
(here is her business card). She is my hiring manager. And she applied the H1-B
visa for me.
33 . did u have the interview?
Yes,I did. ---I had quite a few phone interviews.---I talked with
My future coworkers.-just a few months ago. In January.
34 . do/did u have the business card?
No ,I don't have it any more ,but I have the latter from my previous manager at
bank of China regarding my work experiences.
Yes ,I have .here is the contract of my current company.
35. sorry your documents have not been got here.
But this I-797 approval form is the original form, it is not a copy.
Also, *** is waiting for me to get started as soon as possible.
how long does it take for you to receive the copy? this H1-B was approved on
5/28, almost 4 weeks passed already
: i already reserved the air ticket for 6/29
you can call the airline agent to verify that i already reserved the ticket for
6/29 departure
tcpdump is a tool on unix so that you can dump all the packets on the wire (say
10/100 Ethernet LAN).with that you can debug the network problem.
snoop is the samething, other than it is a Solaris version of the tcpdump,
almost every other OS calls it tcpdump, say Linux or FreeBSD
GDB is a debugging tool for C program.
