熟女皺紋越多 骨質越疏鬆

女性一過中年，容貌方面最害怕滿臉皺紋，健康方面最擔心骨質疏鬆。美國最新一項研究更顯示，這兩項中年熟女「噩夢」，竟然有密切關係：四、五十歲的停經後婦女皺紋越多，骨質密度就越低。


由耶魯大學醫學院生殖內分泌學家芭爾（Lubna Pal）博士領導的研究團隊，六日在「內分泌學會」於波士頓舉行的年會上發表論文。芭爾表示，未來醫師或許不必仰仗更昂貴的科技，只要以皺紋加上其他臨床風險因素，就能確認高風險骨折病患。


芭爾的團隊找來一百十四位年齡介於四十五至五十四歲，停經不到三年，不曾服用荷爾蒙療法藥物，也未接受拉皮等整形手術的女性。


研究人員先以目測方式，就每人臉部與頸部多處的皺紋數與深度進行評分，並以硬度計測量這群婦女額頭和臉頰皮膚的硬度，再以Ｘ光分析其骨質密度。


芭爾指出，他們發現皺紋越多越深的停經女性，骨質密度比皮膚較平滑者低，臉部與額頭皮膚較緊實者，骨質密度更高。


研究人員檢測的各部位骨骼（如臀部、腳跟、腰椎），全都適用於骨質密度與皺紋間的關連性，且研究結論也與年齡、體脂率和其他會影響骨質的因素無關。芭爾認為，關鍵可能在於膠原蛋白。膠原蛋白是人體皮膚和骨骼共同的構成要素，人類年紀漸老，膠原蛋白成分會隨之改變，就會導致皺紋加深、皮膚鬆垮和骨質退化。


但芭爾的團隊也指出，仍需長期研究以證明皺紋和骨折風險之間的關係：「對老年人來說，骨折（尤其是股骨頸和髖骨骨折）常釀成致命傷害，我們希望弄清楚，能否以皮膚皺紋鑑別較可能骨折的婦女。」
