　　据澳大利亚《澳大利亚人报》近日报道，澳大利亚学校教育、儿童早期和青年事务部长彼得·加勒特宣布，2014年将中文普通话课程列为全国中小学教育的正式课程之一。

　　澳大利亚政府日前公布了《亚洲世纪中的澳大利亚》白皮书。在中小学教授中文是白皮书计划的一部分。依据现有草案，中文普通话课程将加入覆盖澳大利亚一年级至十年级的外语教学，学生可根据自身的语言和文化背景从3种学习方式中自由选择，灵活学习。

　　与此同时，澳大利亚高等教育部部长克里斯·埃文斯公布了旨在进一步实现《亚洲世纪白皮书》目标的高等教育草案。在高等教育方面，澳大利亚政府明年将通过政府资助形式，帮助更多学生到亚洲各国进行研究。
