事情是这样的，前几天跟朋友开车出去玩，在离布里斯班大概100多公里的新南威尔士州境内，被一辆警车跟着。警车离我们有一定的距离，我们以为是在路上正常行驶的警车，因为我们也没有超速或其他违规，所以就一直朝前面开。就这样一直开了大概10多分钟左右，前面又来了几个警察设了减速带，把我们逼停了，然后好几个警察围过来让我们下车，先是测了司机是否酒驾，然后问我们为什么不下车。我们跟几个警察解释了，我们才来澳洲没多久，不知道看到后面有警车需要靠左停下来。有几个警察态度挺好的，说“you are not in trouble”，但说最后得取决于一直跟着我们后面那辆警车的警察。但是那个警察态度一直很严肃，估计跟了我们很久很生气，后来就给了我们两张黄色的单子，上面写了要司机下个月出庭，说这个事情要交给法院来判定。我们问他这个事情最严重会有什么后果，他说最严重就是吊销驾照，最轻就是罚款。但是，我之前看到有帖子说没有按警察规定停车，新州是明码标价的罚款315，可是这个警察为什么不直接罚款，还要把我们告上法庭，而且后来他又单独给我们开了个325的罚单，说是我们车碾压了中线。
请求有经验的大神们，这个事情该如何处理呢，可以直接交罚款不出庭吗，出庭的话需要请律师吗，我怕我们说不清楚把事情搞砸了，谢谢大家了！

警灯亮了，也拉了警笛，但我们不知道这是要让我们停下来的意思，以为就是路上照常行驶的警车，因为它跟我们一直保持比较长的一段距离
