今天又想起来几个。

pro   这个意思是专家里手，或者什么做事情非常拿手。就是 professional。 用到的场合比如你说 he's a golf pro. 他高尔夫打的很好。但是有的人也用 pro 指代 prostitute，意思是妓女。所以用的时候要分人。

catch up 这个短语用来讲跟朋友聚聚见见的意思。比如你有一段没见谁了，想 catch up with him。 或者你给一个朋友打电话说， do you wanna catch up for a drink tonight ? 由于这个有见面的意思，所以有些时候也用在分别时说再见。比如你可以说， catch you, mate ! 就是说下次见！
有时候你说你有没有见谁，也可以说是有没有跟谁说话。比如你说你很久没见 Jim 了，你可以说 i haven't spoken to him for a while. 当然也可以用  seen。

fuck    up  这个短语的意思是把事情弄糟。比如你说他把我车弄坏了，he fucked up my car。 你说别搞砸了，就是 Don't fuck up. 还有一个意思类似于惹某人，戏弄某人。你可以跟人说，Don't fuck up with him.

stuff  这个词本来泛指东西，所以也就延伸有了填充的意思。你说你吃饱了，你可以说 i'm stuffed。 但是你说昨天你的工作很多很多累死了，也可以说 I was stuffed。很忙也可以说 flat out。
