Television and telphone, they are both indispensible to our daily life. they cannot be replaced by anything else for their function both have a great influnence on us. However, they are not interchangable due to the unique function they have. If i have to decide which one has greater influnce to our life, in my point of view, it is television.
Though Television and phone are great inventions in our history, i has to be noted that television appeared later than telephone on the stage of history, it bears more new high techniques. On the level of data they transfer, for example, the data of image transfered by TV appears more complicated and greater in ammount than the data transferd by telephone. furthermore, TV is able to transform the data of voice, which clearly is the main function of telephone, however, telephone cannot send image.
in addition, for the user of television, they received the information given by it all the time, and for telephone's, they can both receive and send out the information, typical of daily communication. Someone may argue that telephone appears to be more closer to our ordinary life style because conversation is clearly the basic activity we take part in everyday so that phone has greater influence. However, communication is not such an activity that we can only do it through telephone. Our campus, internet, classroom, workplace, for example, are all available medium for our need to communicate. However, the information we received from the television are very unique, it is hard for us to receive those helpful and interesting stuff from other kind of medium. Furthermore, i think we gain more when we receive information than those time we send out message. the expression of one's feeling is to send out something you already have to the public, but receive information, which happened when we watching the television, is something that help enlarge our knowledge to the world. Therefore, TV give us more benefit than telephone does. |
