The author declares that more money should be spent on improving access to the Internet rather than the public transportation by government.In my view, I strongly agree with the author's conclusion.With the rapid advancement and specialization of the modern society,Internet becomes more prevailing.In other words,Internet substitutes the traditionally public transportation under some situation.
For starters,in the perspective of individual,Internet is more convenient but less cost.If can be given a concrete example,we know,shopping on the Internet seems a prevailing trend.For the sake of less rent and less employees,the price must be decreased,customs can spend less money on their favorite commodity. In contrast,in the shopping mall,the manage must put some money on the rent of the mall,the salary of employees,even the advertisement,you name it.Hence,the increasing price of commodities cannot be avoided.Nevertheless,shopping on the Internet may reduce the occurrence of increasing price to some degree.
Besides,in the perspective of society,development can be seen as a process of continuously communication,then
selecting the essence, going its dross.It is no doubt that the first step is communication.That is to say,communication is the foundation of development.Without the frequently communication with other country and the whole world,the country cannot keep the pace with the development of world.Traditionally,we got and sent information about the world by public transportation.As a result,we cannot communicate with others immediately,missing many chances.Nowadays,communicating on the Internet greatly shortens the time,and provides more useful information,motivating the development.According to the development,the government should spend more money on Internet.
In addition,the large population results in the shortage of sources and serious pollution.The demanding for public transportation is greatly increasing.Yet,if we use Internet instead of public transportation under some situation,for instance,we can use E-mail to communicate with others,if so ,the use of car can be reduced.Not only saving the fuel,but also decrease the waste and toxic gas,such as SO2,flowing into the air,reducing this damage to environment to some degree.Consequently,spending more money on improving access to the Internet benefits our environment surrounding us.
In sum,admittedly,public transportation plays an essential role,however,in order to adapt to the modern life,the government should pay more money for improving access to the Internet |
