Zhang Datong, 64, has been stripped of his post as vice-principle of the No 2 Middle School affiliated with East China Normal University and is under investigation for his alleged behavior that violated the teachers' code of morality, school authorities said in a bulletin.
华东师范大学第二附属中学发布公告称，该校已将64岁的原副校长张大同免职，并正在对其“有违师德”的行为进行调查。
上面报道中的teachers' code of morality就是师德，即教师和一切教育工作者在从事教育活动中必须遵守的code of ethics（道德规范）。在上面的新闻中，学生实名举报张大同以physical examination（检查身体）为由对学生进行molest（猥亵）。Code of morality是指“道德规范”，也叫moral code，常见的work ethic（职业道德）还有医生须遵守的medical morality（医德）。
Code在这里表示“准则、法规、行为规范等”，类似的用法还有traffic code（交通规则）、dress code（着装要求）、sanitary code（卫生法规）等。Code这个词也可表示“代码、密码”，如超市商品上的bar code（条形码）及拨打电话时拨的area code（区号）等。Code还可表示计算机中的编程“代码”，如binary code（二进制代码）及order code（指令码）等。 |
