The Faculty minimum English proficiency requirement is 580 in TOEFL.
Exemption will be granted to those with a first degree from English medium
universities and/or whose native language is English. Applicants with a
TOEFL score between 550 and 579 or band 6 in the Chinese mainland
College English Test may still be considered for admission but they will be
required to obtain a minimum TOEFL score of 580 before graduation.

The department's minimum requirements are TOEFL 600 (for overseas applicants who are not native speakers of English) and GRE 2000 (this is required for all candidates). Please make sure you have results for these tests sent to us as part your application packet. Without the GRE score, your chance of admission may be jeopardized.
