TIPS:
1.所有电子产品手机、U盘等全部不能带入,任何封闭性的手包不能带入,装文件的夹子和手提袋可以带入,笔和胶棒不用带,带了也会被收走;
2.DS160表上只需粘贴绿色联(使馆保存联)即可,但白色联(个人保存联)需携带,盖章用;
3.DS160确认页上需手写姓名、姓名电码、单位地址和住宅地址,建议提前准备好,不然到了里面还要现写;
某小伙子,我们排过去的时候,他已经聊的差不多了,拿着材料摇摇头走了,拒了;
某大妈,聊了一会,因为材料不全,拒了,大妈还在问VO需要什么材料,可惜VO不会理她了;
我们队伍,第一位是个去读书的小伙子,拿英文聊了半天,拒了;
第二位是一位女教授,去签J1,全程中文,拒了;
Can you speak English?
ME:A little.
VO:Well,why are you going to America?
ME:To visit my wife, she is a visiting scholar in *** University for one year. Here is a letter from her to you, it contains the most important informations of my trip.(递J1写给VO的信)
VO:(开始读信)When did you get married?
ME:Last Christmas Day.
VO:May I see your marriage certification?
ME:Sure.(递结婚证原件)
VO:(看了一下递出)So how long will you spend in America?
ME:About a month, I wanna share the Christmas Day with my wife.
VO:So when are you going to leave, in December?
ME:Maybe late November.
VO:When did you meet your wife?
ME:Well, we met each other when we are in junior school,and got in love at high school,about 10 years ago...
VO:(Look at me and smile)
ME:(Smile)It's a long love story.
ME:This Christmas Day will be our first wedding anniversary.
VO:(Smile)Yes, I see. So you said your wife is a visiting scholar for one year,when did she leave?
ME:March 25th.
VO:Do you have a copy of her passport?
ME:Of course I have.(递一沓整理好的J1的材料)
VO:(翻到第二页,开始在电脑上录入J1的I94信息)Why didn't she come back?
VO:(递出J1材料,继续读信)You and your wife are studying in the same university.
ME:Yes, we both are postgraduate student of *** university.
VO:And the same profession, ***?
ME:Yes, but different direction. She focuses on Disease A and I focuses on Disease B.
VO:Can you show me your school certification and curriculum vitae?
ME:Sure.(递在校证明、学生证和个人简历,心里已经觉得要被check了)
VO:(在校证明等看了下递出,拿着简历)Hold on a moment.(离开,约3分钟后回来)You said your speciality is about Disease B, is it associated with Chemistry or Biology?
ME:No,it's about Molecular Medicine.(我知道化学和生物都是敏感专业,心想打死也不能往这两方面扯)
VO:Well, describe your research.
ME:I'm studying on a protein named ***X,it has important role in the mechanism of Disease B. We want to discover how it effects.
VO:Can I see your resarch paper?
ME:Of course, but I can only give you the paper for my Master's Degree.The program of my PhD has not finished yet.(递硕士论文英文摘要)
VO:When will you get your PhD Degree?
ME:2013.
VO:(整理材料准备给我,把笔碰掉了,弯腰去捡)I'm sorry.
ME:You are so busy.
VO:I'm always busy.(指着J1给VO的信)Can I keep this letter?
ME:Sure you can.
VO:(严肃地)Sir, Welcome to the United States Embassy Visa. Your documents are pretty good. BLABLABLA...It will take about three weeks.(撕蓝条,和2019一起递出,留下了护照、简历和硕士论文)
ME:(心想被Check了)Thank you. Am I checked?
VO:No,no,no. Your meterials are pretty good. Enjoy your vocation. Have a good day!
ME:Thank you very much. Have a nice day!
1.说实话,“小帅哥”VO还是非常kind and patient,会鼓励你把话说完。但他签证风格非常详尽,我看到的7名申请人包括我在内,只有我一个撕了条,其他6人全部rejected,“冷面帅哥”绝非浪得虚名;
2.面签的时候还是需要适当保持沉默,知无不言言无不尽。有些申请人总喜欢在VO打字的时候不断诉说这次机会多么多么难得,就现场看,我想VO是听不进去的;
