Visa Services
Australian visa services in mainland China are continuing as normal. There has been no cessation of visa processing in response to the outbreak of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS).
Whilst the Australian Government does have screening procedures in place for people arriving in Australia, there is no requirement by the Australian Government for any additional medical examination as a result of SARS in order to obtain an Australian visa or to enter Australia. You may, however, still be required to undertake a medical examination as part of normal visa processing arrangements.
If you are travelling in the near future you may wish to check with your airline about any additional requirements they may have in relation to SARS.
