Your permanent residence visa is ready for collection, as those of your accompanying dependents if any.
As the principal applicant, you are required to collect the 3 visa(s) in person, within 120 days of this letter's date. For security reasons, only you may pick up the visa(s). The only exception is for principal applicants under the age of 18 on the date of the pick-up letter, in which case a parent or guardian may pick up the visa for you. He/she has to present his/her own identity document and a legal document to prove his/her parental or guardian relationship to you, such as birth certificate, adoption certificate or guardianship certificate.
You can collect your visa(s) at this office any Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday, with the exception of public holidays. A list of the public holidays observed by this office can be viewed on our website......
Admittance to the waiting area will take place between 13:15 and 14:00 only. Clients will be required to present the letter, passport, and the passports of all accompanying family members at that time. Normally the visa(s) will be issued by 17:00 that day.
Please note:
Visa collection may be made by the principal applicant only. We will not respond to any correspondence requesting that an exception be made. The only exception is for principal applicants under the age of 18 on the date of the pick-up letter, in which case a parent or guardian may pick up the visa for you. He/she has to present his/her own identity document and a legal document to prove his/her parental or guardian relationship to you, such as birth certificate, adoption certificate or guardianship certificate.
Clients are not required to inform us of the date they choose to collect the visa(s);
Each passport must contain at least three (3) blank pages for visas and must be signed by the bearer;
Same day service will normally be provided. However, should unforeseen difficulties arise (e.g. passport does not match the one on record, new persons added to the file, incorrect number of passports, etc.), you may be required to return another day;
Clients must report to this office in writing all changes in their travel documents, family configuration and marital status well before collecting the visas. This includes all births, deaths, marriages, divorces, new custody arrangements and adoptions involving the principal applicant and/or dependants; should the client not do so, a document-replacement or other appropriate fee will be required. The invitation letter will be deemed invalid. When the visas are ready again after the changes have been made, a new invitation letter will be issued.
Once passports have been handed to the receptionist, clients may not leave the waiting room as they will not have proper documentation to prove their legal status in Hong Kong. Given the number of clients, please allow the whole afternoon to have the passports returned;
No follow-up or reminder letters will be sent and no extensions to visa validity will be granted. If clients fail to collect the visas within 120 days and/or do not use them prior to their expiry, they will be required to submit a new application, pay new processing fees and qualify under the selection standards in force at that time in order to immigrate to Canada;
Dependants, if any, are not required to accompany the principal applicant to Hong Kong and, due to space restrictions, they will not be granted access to the waiting room if they do, nor will they be permitted to wait outside the waiting room. Please ensure, however, that you bring the passports of all family members who will receive visas.
