Important information for lodging GSM applications before 1 July 2010
The Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) has advised that any online GSM visa applications made before 1 July 2010 should be made well before 6:00pm Wednesday 30 June 2010.
This is because the implementation of the new Skilled Occupation List (SOL) and other department system changes are likely to cause a systems outage. Click for more information.

Website Outages
Please also be aware of the following planned systems outages:
Thursday 17 June 2010
All DIAC websites - including its home, citizenship, Ministerial and diversity pages - will be unavailable 7:00am - 8:00am Thursday 17 June 2010.
Online services - such as eLodgement (eVisa and eCitizenship), Visa Entitlement Verification Online (VEVO), Grants Management System (GMS), Visa and Citizenship Wizards and LEGENDcom systems - will not be available.
Users who attempt to access these websites or online services during the outage will receive an error message. Please try again after 8:00am Thursday 17 June 2010.
Saturday 19 June 2010
The following systems may become unavailable from 12:00pm - 3:00pm Saturday 19 June 2010:
eLodgement (eVisa and Citizenship); and
Visa Entitlement Verification Online (VEVO).
Users who receive a ‘Server 500’ error message during this time should try again after 3:00pm Saturday 19 June 2010.
Wednesdays
The following systems may become unavailable every Wednesday from 5:00am - 7:00am:
eLodgement (eVisa and Citizenship);
Visa Entitlement Verification Online (VEVO); and
LEGENDcom.
Users who receive a ‘Server 500’ error message during this time should try again after 7:00am.
DIAC WARNING:
Applicants are advised to note planned system maintenance times before commencing an eVisa application, as planned maintenance will prevent a commenced application from being lodged. The department is not able to accept and back-date applications which have been commenced but not finally submitted through eVisa as a result of planned system maintenance or an outage.
Reminder:
BPAY will be unavailable for DIAC payments from 7:00am Wednesday 2 June to 8:00am Thursday 1 July 2010.
The option to pay for an eVisa application using BPAY is only available for clients in Australia applying online for a Student visa or permission to work. Payments for online Student visa applications can continue to be made by credit card during this time.
