My question is where will be a better place to get married for future immigration purpose. My fiance and I plan to get married next year. He is Canadian citizen and I am Chinese citizen. We both work in US. I plan to immigrate to Canada after we get married since the US green card takes way longer. Someone told me that if we register and get the marriage certificate in Canada, it will make the immigration process easier and faster. Is that ture?
So I guess my questions will be:
1. It takes 3-4 months to get the marriage certificate in Canada after lience application while in US, we can get it right after the day we get married. So if we take the 3-4 month wait time into consideration, will getting married in Canda still be an advatange?
2. When the immigration office access my documentation, what is the difference between a Canada marriage certificate and US marriage certificate? Will it take longer to validate a US marriage certificate?
3. Where should I submit the immigration application? From US, Canada or China? Which is considered faster?
