肉毒杆菌凝胶或能长期有效缓解花粉症症状，墨尔本Monash医学中心将进行全球首例试验

南部睡眠和呼吸医疗健康主任Philip Bardin表示，肉毒杆菌毒素可以通过阻隔鼻腔的神经末梢来缓解症状，减少发炎和花粉症状的产生。

他表示，这种易用性凝胶能够很快渗透进鼻腔里，最多可以在90天内消除花粉症状而不用重复涂抹。

Bardin教授表示该研究潜力巨大，或许能够帮助饱受花粉症之苦的310万澳洲人。

病人Anesti Steryos患花粉症已经很多年了，表示希望这种凝胶能够让他不用再每天检查空中散布的花粉量。

“如果该产品能长期有效的话，就省去我不少麻烦。”

“虽然花粉症听起来不是什么大毛病，但犯起来却要老命：不住打喷嚏，鼻水流不停，眼睛痒得狠。”

Bardin教授预计将发布肉毒杆菌治疗严重哮喘的初步成果，而凝胶试验是随之而来的消息。

Monash医学中心的医生们在严重哮喘患者的喉头注射肉毒杆菌，以缓解病发时阻碍呼吸的肌肉痉挛，该试验在去年开展。
